Hi there! I saw your question awhile ago at work and was pretty-sure I knew the answer but wanted to get home to look in my iPod/iTunes book to make sure. I actually thought by the time I got home that someone would have answered your question, and I'm surprised that no one has answered you yet. In any event, I was right! I'm looking in my book now and here is what you need to do: Apple allows you to "Authorize" up to 5 computers to play all of your purchased songs, videos, etc. How you do this is when you are in your iTunes Library on your new computer, at the top-right hand side is a row of buttons that say "File, Edit, Controls, View, Store, Advanced, Help" - select "Store" and then select "Authorize Computer". Then you will need to copy your iTunes Library from your old computer onto an External Hard Drive - you can get one at any computer/electronics store (like Radio Shack). The size of the Hard Drive will depend on how large your iTunes Library is that you are wanting to move. They actually aren't that expensive. My iTunes Library has almost 6,000 songs, and at the bottom of my iTunes Library screen it tells me that is almost 22GB. I found a mini-external hard drive that is 160 GB (lots room to grow!), that cost just a little over $100 (can't really remember for sure). I also use it as a back-up for my iTunes Library as it's taken me a long time to build my Library and I don't want to take a chance of something happening to my computer and losing my songs. Anyway, you need to go into your C-Drive and find where your iTunes Library is stored. On my computer, it's under "Documents and Settings/My Music/iTunes/iTunes Music". Your's is probably somewhere similar, but you'll have to find it - it will be in there. Once you find it, connect your external hard drive and then copy your iTunes Library into it. Then connect your external hard drive to your new computer and copy away! The first time you access your iTunes Library now on your new computer, iTunes will ask you for your Music Store account ID and password in order to complete the Authorization of your new computer. Once you do that, you have now successfully completed the transfer of your iTunes Library from your old computer to your new computer. FYI (important!): Remember that you are only allowed to Authorize up to 5 computers, so once you do this, you will only have 4 Authorizations left. If you are very kind-hearted and generous, you might even want to share your Library with family and/or friends (just remember if you do, then they will have to have your Music Store ID & password). Whenever you want to delete one computer for whatever reason (like you or anyone you share your Library with gets a new computer at some point in the future), you need to "Deauthorize" that old computer by doing what you did when you "Authorized" that computer, but instead of selecting "Authorize Computer", you would select "Deauthorize Computer". If you forget to do this, you will have 1 less computer available to be authorized. (If you need to "Deauthorize" a computer that no longer works, you can contact Apple through its Music Store support page.) Enjoy your new computer and your new and improved iTunes Library!
