How to convince my dad to get me an iPod Touch 3G 8GB?

Well i was supposed to get an ipod touch for my birthday [which was 5 months ago as of today], but we went there and it was 3 days before the 3rd generation came out, so we decided to wait and my dad said he would buy me it the next week. He never got me the ipod. I got an 88 average on my report card, almost 6 points improvement, student of the month, 2 awards in science, and honor roll, and every time i ask him for it he sort of shruggs it off but says" i'll get you it, don't worry." Its winter so i cant really go anywhere when its cold and my friends live too far away so i cant hang out with them, so i really have nothing to do at home and im getting pissed off from waiting. How can i convince him??

Answer:
Put all of your achievement papers in a portfolio and present them to him and then ask him "What more do I need to do to get the iPod?!?" And if you he waited so he can get you the 3G remind him that the 8 GB isn't really a true 3G its just a 3G model with the guts of a 2G
