What do i do to make my Ipod touch 2nd gen sync with iTunes?
-
I just got a new computer, so i got iTunes on it and transferred all my music from my ipod to the computer using some program. But, now my ipod won't sync. I plug it in, and it shows that its there and everything. But when i click the sync button, it pops up on the ipod for a second or so then goes away and nothing gets added to the ipod. And i can't figure out what to do. I've already tried turning the ipod all the way off and plugging it back in. I NEED HELP!!! Going on a 30 hour road trip in a few days and I NEED my music.

Answer:
Try restoring your iPod touch in iTunes. If not, on your iPod touch, go to "Settings" > "General" > "Reset" > "Erase All Content and Settings". This will then restore your iPod touch back to its factory settings. The Apple logo will then appear, and after a couple of minutes when the home screen is being displayed, connect your iPod touch back to iTunes, and see if it works. Hope I helped :D EDIT: Just seen the previous person's comment - he is right! (forgot about that!). On the left, click iPod touch or w/e your iPod touch is called, then go to "Music" on the tabs at the top, and select "Sync Music". A message may appear saying it is already connected with another iTunes library - Click "Erase and Sync".

Everybody here is stupid. All you have to do it go to your iPod in iTunes and click on the Music Tab. Check the box that says Sync All Music. man12342363571346 has a good answer, but it isn't the solution. Do what I said and click Me for best answer.

One iPod can sync with only one iTunes, once you got a new iTunes library or a new computer. You have to authorize your iPod to it at first, then you can upload music and video from the new iTunes to your iPod. But this way will overwrite the originial files on iPod with the new iTunes. You may try this iPod transfer, it can help you copy files from iPod to computer for backup, you can also use it as an iTunes alternative to upload music and video. It will not erase your original file. It's safe and works pretty well for me. http://www.ipod-transfer-copy.com/ipod-iphone-to-computer-transfer-cucusoft.html Hope it helps. First make sure you have itunes installed properly on the PC and that you have a proper 500mA USB2 port connection as if its on an unpowered hub or laptop/peripheral 100mA USb port it wont have enoguh power to charge or sync properly. secondly make sure the ipod has been reset and PAIRED with the new PC ( saying yes to the erase and sync message). another reason its not synicing is because you are either having a driver conflict error as detailed in the apple help page:- http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1538 for driver errors and http://support.apple.com/kb/TS1369 for USB power issues or more likely its a USB power issue. Make sure you have a full power USB connection (many laptops and keyboard connectors only give 100mA max rather than the full 500mA, also do not connect via an unpowered hub either as this only PARTLY charges the ipod connect it direct to the computer on a full power USB port or via a powered hub (mains transformer connected to it) and it should be OK. Leave it charging on this for at least an hour before proceeding further. make sure you have the latest itunes 8.2.0 (downloaded on your PC from www.apple.com/itunes/download then restart PC first) and reset the ipod before connection (menu and centre key till screen blanks then connect once it lights up). the say YES to the 'pair with this computer' Message if after doing the USB power check you still have problems you need to call apple for a swap for replacement... as batteries can be killed by improper usage apple has a page at http://support.apple.com/kb/HT1726 that tells you how to get the most from your battery

The music is already on your iPod. It only pops up for a second because it has nothing new to sync. Check the music app. If it's not there, then the 3rd party app you used to transfer the music your new computer is most likely the cause.

your itunes may have already synced, if the library is already on the ipod touch it won't sync again until more is put on itunes
try signing out of itunes and signing back in. sometimes there are conflicts with background programs.
