Ipod says i have no songs!!!?
-
i have 4,000 songs on my ipod. one day i discontected it properly and was about to listen to my ipod when it showed that all my songs were gone!! i had no idea how this happend. i took it to the ipod store and the guy says all my songs are still there its just that the ipod isnt reading it. he said to try a program at frys called ipod backup or something i DONT want to restore this ipod because my itunes songs on my library have been deleted by my mom to give the computer space. what am i supposed to do to get my ipod to read these songs. if anything it would be okay if i could get one of those programs to transfer the songs to comptuter so i could put all these songs on a new ipod but even those programs dont work, they dont read my ipod.

Answer:
First of all, if all your songs are deleted from your computer, and your iPod doesn't show any, it means your songs are gone. There's no way of putting the songs back on your iPod because the songs aren't there anymore. Just because the titles are still in your iTunes library doesn't mean the file is still there. You need to redownload your 4,000 songs... sorry. On the bright side, the songs you purchased can be redownloaded via the iTunes store. If you're a normal person though, I'm guessing that's not a large percentage of your songs, lol.

you can only put songs on iPods via iTunes, you cannot put any songs on there any other way. if the songs are deleted off of iTunes, and you plug the iPod into your computer, it will delete the songs

I had somewhat of a similar problem... you don't need to download some software, if you open itunes like normal, in the dropdown bar "store" click check for purchases. All songs you purchased will begin to download onto your computer again. Just try to reload them on. If that dosen't work, email apple under their support feature. They helped me so much. Best of luck!

Maybe your ipod is broken-or maybe you have too many songs and it refuses to read it.Maybe you should re-download the songs or get a new iPod.
I would take the Fry guy's advice....or go into a Radioshack and ske them....otherwise you'll be downloading all night long...sorry
