How do i get my music from ipod to play onto Itunes?

If I get an iPod for Xmas, will it only play iTunes music or any mp3?

  • I have tons of music but its not from iTunes. They're all mp3, will they play normally on my (hypothetical) iPod? I want to continue using the software I am using currently to download my music. Will this be possible on an iPod. iTunes is necessary to organize the music or something right?

  • Answer:

It'll play all. You'll just have to click and drag the mp3's you have over to your iTunes program :) Once the music you want is in iTunes you upload it to the ipod. It's great! Have fun

Yes it will play Mp3s. And NO you don't have to use iTunes to load an Ipod with music. Consider Winamp with the ML_ipod plugin. It lets you get the songs off.

Yeah, any mp3's on your computer will play on your iPod, as long as they have been downloaded on iTunes. Note: You may want to create a folder, or let iTunes organize your music for you, so that you know where the original location is from.
