Is this iPod Touch a 2g or 3g?

Ipod Touch Generation Differences - 1G, 2G and 3G?

  • Hello, I know that the 2G is curvier than 1G and has external volume buttons. What about the Ipod Touch 3G? Is it identical to 2G, just that it has a new firmware, or is the physical Ipod different? I have a 1G Ipod Touch, and I feel like upgrading to the 3G one. But if it's the same as 2G, then I dunno if I should.

    It's got a faster processor, can be upgraded to a 64GB and the graphics have also improved. Basically the same as the 2g though. comparison wise the same sort of difference between the iphone 3gs to the 3g - mostly just more efficient - nothing drastic, and certainly not much in the way of new features. The 2g will be cheaper.

If you want to save money, you are better off going for the 2G. they both have speakers, but the 3G has a better processor, battery, graphics and RAM. The firmware thing is for any iPod touch. I don't know if you care (or even know) about this, but they can both be jailbroken.
