Can I download all my itunes media to another computer?

How do I transfer songs from Windows Media Player to iTunes?

  • I have a couple of songs already saved onto my computer, and you can open it up on Windows Media Player. Not only that, but you can copy it to your iPod. However, when I DO copy it, it gets saved onto the calenders in my iPod and therefore takes up more room. My sister and I think that we have to transfer the songs first to iTunes and then download it to our iPods, but we don't know how. May someone please tell us how to do that? And if transfering it to iTunes isn't the right way, what is? Thanks so much for your help!

  • Answer:

You're right, you need iTunes to put songs on your iPod, and you can transfer them from WMP to iTunes without much trouble. First, download iTunes. Next, open iTunes. Now go to File>Insert File (or something like that). This will bring you to all of your files. Go to where your music is all saved, and select your songs (I think you can only do them one at a time, but I could be wrong). You will need to switch them from the file type they already are into AAC files, so they can go on your iPod. If they already are that type, you won't need to convert them. If they aren't, don't worry, iTunes will tell you and do it for you. Then you have your songs on iTunes and can put them on your iPod.
