How to boost bass in headphones?

Need headphones for mixing, help?

• ok, im goin into 2nd year of uni, doin a music tech course My teacher has told us that we all need to get good headphones to get a good mix on songs (we do alot of mixing in his class) and he said that we should really be spending over £100 on them, avoiding ones that have bass boost etc but i know nothing of the world of headphones, i thought my wee ones at £20 were okay...apparently not.. a good set of headphones are the difference between an A and a C! anyone got any suggestions? nothing over £200 if possible :)
