I have an mp3 player and im looking to add videos. what file format do i need to convert the video to?

it depends on the type of MP3 player, ipod use MP4-video. look at he software or user guide that woas given to you. it should be able to shed some light on the situation. if it doesn't accept MP4 i would try avi next

well first what kind of mp3 player? mp3 is file format only for songs. for videos, you need to be converted to mp4 format. it won't play if it's just a mp3 player.
