How do you download songs on mp3 player?

I just got a mp3 player and I don't know how to download songs. what is the itunes cards for, and do I need them. if so for what and if it's for downloading songs, how much $ per song? I am totally clueless. and I don't have a cd thing if that's what I need I dunno why.

First: congratulations!! Second of all, you don't have to buy from itunes, you can easily just download from limewire.(Go to limewire.com, and download regular free version) download songs from there. You have to get songs that are mp3 files (which are the majority of songs there) I'm sure your technically advanced enough to know how to download songs, just search for it and click on the song you want. (but there are some phonys so watch out). Whenever you plug in the mp3 choose "open files" transfer songs from library to mp3. Good luck
