Is there any way I can transfer the music on my iPod to a new, blank iTunes library?
-
Okay, so here's what happened: I have an older computer that is kind of slow now, but I have had it for about 5 years, so it has all my music on it. I still use this computer to sync my iPod, burn CD's, buy music, and everything like that. I got a laptop for my last birthday, and I have iTunes on it, but none of the music on my older computer. I was thinking about transferring all the music from my iPod to my laptop iTunes, but, according to iTunes, you aren't allowed to do that. It doesn't let you transfer music from an iPod to an iTunes, only iTunes to an iPod. And this is really a problem, and I'll tell you why... Last week, the old computer with ALL my music on it got destroyed. I think it got attacked by a virus or something and it is physically impossible to fix in this case. So, I lost ALL MY MUSIC except for the fact that it's still on my iPod. I can't sync my iPod to my laptop iTunes, so what do I do now?!

The most convenient and secure way is to use an iPod-to-computer transfer program to help you. This is how I did. I used Tansee iPod Transfer. I like its fast, entire and safe transfer. http://gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tansee-iPod-Transfer.htm The whole process needs just a few simple clicks.Simply install this program on your computer. When you plug your iPod to the computer, this program could display all songs and videos on the iPod instantly. You simply select all and click "Copy" button. Done. All your selected files will be copied to your computer completely and safely. Now you can easily add those songs and videos to your iTunes library. It even has step-by-step guide on the whole process:http://gutensoft.com/Guide/How-to-transfer-songs-and-videos-from-ipod-to-computer.htm Best luck! If you enable disk use for your ipod you can then all copy all the music off. It's in a hidden folder named something like ipod control. The music is all stored in an odd way but if you either copy to your computer and then import from there or import from your ipod itself then it will pick up all the names from the song properties.

Contact Itunes. I hit restore on my computer cuz I thought it would sync it, but it deleted all my songs. I called itunes and they refunded all my songs except 5.

you really got yourself a lousy situation here, huh? victim of circumstances, ok .. here's a possible solution. on your new laptop (is it?) plug in your ipod and save them on a folder (you'll have to make one .. say on your "Music" folder or wherever but just remember where it is now, with the Itunes on your laptop, open these songs saved on your computer, better if you detach your ipod first. Itunes on your computer will be reading songs saved on your computer and not your ipod, it should read ... eventually convert them. Itunes will now create a library for these converted songs. happy listening .. it should work ... i did this
