How do you download songs onto an iPod?

I just bought a ipod nano and i don't know how to download songs onto it.?

• i just bought a ipod and i don't know how to put songs into it. i don't want to use iTune or anything that i have to pay money and a don't have internet (i go to the library). all i want to is to download the songs that are already in my computer. however, when ever i try to download it, it goes into contacts, calendar, and something else i don't remember. i try to save it in there but then i won't be able to listen to it at all. can you please tell me what i should do and how to download them. would i have to use the internet?

  plus you need the internet. connect it to the computer at wherever you go to and use the ipod like a flashdrive. download mediamonkey or itunes to it and when you get home install it. the only reason i would recommend itunes is if you are going to purchase music from them or to update your ipod. other than that itunes is garbage. personally i use mediamonkey to manage my nano. i cant wait for the new release. but if you have a collection of music over 10,000 songs... i have well over 60 gigs of music and if you like to control all aspects of your music and music device. get mediamonkey and for album are its fully integrated with amazon and all you have to do is autotag to file and once you get the hang of it you'll love it. i am also a fan of party mode. it goes full screen and password protects everything so nothing can be changed unless a password is provided but playing music if fully enabled, its nice for when friends come over and they want to listen to music.
