Answer:
Go to iPod-tool.com and download the iPod to PC transfer software called Tansee iPod Transfer to help you backup all your iPod songs and videos onto your computer. The advantage lies in that it utilizes iPod's internal database to display your iPod's files instantly. That means, when you connect your iPod to PC, this program will automatically display all music/videos on your iPod. Once click "Copy" button, all files would be copied onto your selected folder on your PC. I advise you to use it. Really save time.

if you have no music or anything in your itunes library and sync your ipod, it will erase everything you had. but if you have music on your itunes library and sync it, it will erase everything on your ipod and replace it with the new music/pictures/videos you have in your itunes library now

Do you have the old computer with the music on it? If so you can use an external hard-drive or flash-drive to transfer from there. If not, there is an option under the File menu that should say "Transfer Purchases From iPod." Click that after connecting your iPod to the computer WITHOUT syncing it. That will transfer any music that you purchased through iTunes. If you don't have the original computer, then there is no other way I know of to transfer any music not purchased through iTunes.

All your selected files will be copied to your computer safely. Now you can easily add those songs and videos to your iTunes library. See detailed guide. That's what syncing does. If you don't want to replace the iPod content with what's in that iTunes library, then you don't want to sync to it. Copy the files from the old computer to the new one, import them to iTunes, then sync.

That's what syncing means - make the iPod look like the computer. To save what's on the iPod to the computer, you can use one of http://www.freedvdripper.net/free-ipod-to-computer-itunes-transfer.html
