How many songs can a 8GB 3G Ipod Nano hold?

ok well i have an 8G Ipod nano. and right now i dont have that many songs. but 337 which i currently have takes up about 2 GB which is unbelievable but its true. I would say about 2,000 songs. because like you said a 4GB holds 1,000 so do the math and that means every 4GB Holds 1,000 songs.. 4GB + 4GB = 8GB 1,000 + 1,000 = 2,000 or a little more.

8gb will hold around 2,000 at 128kb/s (painful quality in my opinion) and around 4 min per song. Also, you don't get a full 8gb, probably more like 7.4 due to formatting, software etc. So you won't get that many songs on there, but you can get a fair number. I would say that if your music collection is more than half that (more than about 3.5gb) I would get a different iPod model because you'll outgrow it too quickly. Choosing what music to put on my Nano always took forever and I regret ever buying it.

yes. plus it also depends what bit rate (kbps) you have the songs, cd quality is 128kbps, so if you dropped down to 96kbps, you could in effect get a much more, because the bit rate also changes the mega byte size of the song :)
