What options do I have for non-earbud headphones that you can still comfortably use while on the move yet also still let you hear what's going on around you? I physically cannot wear earbuds, my ear isn't shaped correctly to keep them in, but giant earmuffs are impractical. You've got the in-ear/canal style, but I usually have a very hard time finding ones small enough for my ears or they simply block out the world to the point I can't reasonably wear them in public. Yes, sealing = better sound, but I want headphones, not earplugs...because /everyone/ will talk to you when you have headphones in and I'd rather not have to pull them in and out every 20 seconds. I used to wear a pair of Koss clip-on headphones, but they've cheapened the series until the cords break constantly. Most clip-ons I see are very cheap, low-quality stuff...certainly far from Sennheiser or Polk. I have very long hair, so I'd assume the neckband style would simply get in the way or turn into a jumbled mess, but I have to admit to never trying them. Just trying to hear some opinions and find some options. Thanks in advance for any and all answers.

Answer:
Depends what you went to spend. Remember that any headphone that lets surrounding sound in, also lets some sound out. Grado 60i is super sounding open back. htttp://www.headphone.com/headphones/gr… http://www.onecall.com/product/Grado/SR-60i/Headphones/_/R-8965 $79 at losts of places, and make sure it is factory authorized like OneCall. The 80i is next step up. Koss Porta Pro may be the style you look for in an inexpensive good value. Lifetime warranty. http://www.amazon.com/Koss-PortaPro-Headphones-with-Case/dp/B00001P4ZH Very adjustable lightweight high quality sound for $36 retail is $50 http://www.koss.com/en/products/headphones/on-ear-headphones/PortaPro__Porta_Pro_On_Ear_Headphone What's your price range? Big bass sound without the price of Dr Dre's, the same designer did the Fanny Wang series. Almost as good at half the price and a little less boom boom.
