How to get iPod to sync with iTunes?

How do I get Music from my Ipod into my Itunes LIbrary, and why won't they sync?

• I was doing some stuff with Podcasts when Itunes started going crazy and froze up every time I started it. I got rid of it then re downloaded it. Then I deleted all the files in itunes. When I hooked up my Ipod, it said it synced, but it didn't. Plus the music didn't go from my Ipod to the LIbrary. I keep hitting the Sync button but nohting happens. My question is, how to i get the music and podcasts on my Ipod into my Itunes LIbrary (I already tried Irip or whatever it's called). And how do I sync my Ipod with my Itunes LIbrary. And even when It says I synced it it just transfers thing i bought on itunes, nothing else.

  you might have to reverse sync it....not sure how to do that, but i read about it online at apple's website
