Can I backup my Ipod to a flash drive? Or can you move songs from an Ipod to a computer?
-
Somehow songs in my Itunes library became corrupted. But I have them on my Ipod. Is there a way to backup my Ipod to a flash drive so I can reinstall them on my computer? Or somehow replace the songs on my computer with the ones on my Ipod? If it were just as simple as reloading cds into my computer, I would do that. But many of the cds I dont have anymore, and there were a lot of purchased songs that were corrupted as well. Any help out there? Or am I just out of luck?

Answer:
I've put songs from my iPod to a computer WITHOUT iTunes, so it wouldn't erase what is on the iPod. The computer just treats it as another drive. But, that was only a couple hundred songs from an iPod Shuffle. With a regular iPod, I don't know if the logistics are different. Also, I don't recall putting the songs from the regular computer BACK to the iPod, which is what you would need to do. There is another and maybe better option. There are several programs to fix the problem of lost or corrupted songs on iTunes. The one I used once was PD+Rescue for iPod. It costs around 30, I think. I managed to get all of my songs from my regular iPod (almost 5000 at the time) onto a new computer with iTunes. You have to follow the directions closely, but it's doable. I'm sure people will give you other suggestions, but these are a couple to at least consider. Good luck.

It is very easy on a mac. I had to do this yesterday :/ Put in your iPod on a computer, and press "control" (on a mac), then while you are still holding control, just click your "music folder" under your iPod, and you get a little list that comes up. It should say on one of the options "transfer purchased", and just press it. Then, all of your songs that you bought off of itunes will go from your iPod, to itunes, and they will still be on your iPod.
Apple really doesn't like the idea of people removing songs from their ipods. How mean right? There are alot of programs out there to move them back onto a computer, but I prefer this method. Attach your ipod to your computer. Go to my computer and click on your ipod icon as if it were a flash drive. Then in the tool bar of that window go to tools and click on folder options. A new window will open up and in that window click the tab that says view. About nine icons down it was say show hidden folders. Click that then hit apply (or ok) A new folder should have appeared in your ipod window Called iPod_Control. You'll notice it's different because it's slightly transparent. Click that folder. Then click on the music folder. This will take you to 49 individual folders. This is your music. Highlight all of the folders and either copy and paste them to your computer somewhere or to a flash drive if possible. Careful not to Delete them or you'll lose all you music for real! Oh, and don't worry that if you look at files and they have odd names, once you add them to itunes. I hope this helps you! It always works for me when my iTunes freaks out on me. This will not work on macs. Well, it may, but I don't have one to test it on, so PCs only!
srsly?
