Well, first you have to do is disable the auto sync of your iTunes on your computer and set it to manual or it will mess up your iPod music and video files. After that you can create a folder on your computer where you will be saving your music and video files. Open this folder and access your music on your iPod, highlight the songs, copy paste to this folder you made on your computer. Same thing goes with your video files. Hope this helps you out...

Plug in ur ipod, if itunes opens, close it. Go to "My computer" look at the removable disks, an find yours. double click on your removable disk (ipod), on the menu bar it should give you an option called "Organize" (for windows vista) click it and go to "Folder and search options" or if XP it will say something like folder options, on folder options it should have a tab named "View" click it. Scroll down to where it says "Hidden files and Folders" Click on the "Show Hidden Files and Folders". Click "OK" Now go back to your ipod. Doucble click it to open it up. Go to "ipod control" open it up. There should be a folder named "Music" open it up. Now depending on how much music you have, after you open the flder "Music"ther will be other forlders named "F00, F01, F02 etc.." Inside those folders are your music files. fter you are finished go back and turn off the show hidden files and folders!! I suggest you make a folder in your desktop, and go to your pod where the music files are, and go through every folder you have, and drag the music files on to the folder in your desktop. Oh, The programs that say that they can transfer your music to your computer, are bullshit!! i know i tried them!!

This iPod rip does a good job on this. http://ipod-tool.com/ipod-software/joboshare-ipod-rip.html My sister found it when she had to transfer her iPod files to her new laptop. It can help you transfer all music, videos, playlists, photos, podcasts and TV Shows and more from iPod to PC and from iPod to iTunes as well as from PC to iPod and file sharing between multiple iPods. The greatest thing is that the whole process won't cause any deletion of any files on your iPod. You can free download it to try. Good luck!
