What are good ways to save up for an iPod Touch?

Should I save up for an iPod touch 4g, or wait until they announce a new iPod touch?

  • I have an iPod touch 3G 8bg (which really isnt a true 3rd gen device) and it isn't compatible with a lot of games and other apps. So I want to get an upgrade. What's your opinion, should I save up for and iPod touch 4th gen, or wait till' the next one?

    All four iPod Touches were released the September after the corresponding iPhone was released (which always occurred in June), so if history repeats itself, we should see a fifth-generation iPod Touch sometime in September. However, there was no major revision of the iPod Touch last year due to the iPhone 4S' late launch in October, so there is a decent chance that Apple will wait until the release of the iPhone 5 to release the iPod Touch 5G, which would most likely occur around June or October (I would think around October since it would probably take around a year to go from the iPhone 4S to the iPhone 5). If you want a new iPod Touch badly, I would just get an iPod Touch 4G now. Most likely, the iPod Touch 5G's improvements will be a new processor and a new camera---that's pretty much it. In my opinion, that isn't exactly worth the wait. I hope this helps! --- @nik: I don't have any crashing problems on my iPhone 4.

If you want games - get a playstation Vita or a laptop (or even a tablet), otherways Apple will keep increasing the needs of each game/app so you'll have to chase (and spend your money) on the newest version.

Wait! There is a reason why there is a new one coming out! To be much more advanced than the itouch 4g ;)

I would wait. I regret getting my 4th gen it keeps crashing out on all my apps. 5th gen will be better. i just know it. they always are :)
