How to present ViewController in Landscape mode?

My iPod touch, the screen doesn't like to turn to landscape mode.?

  • I have an iPod touch 2nd Generation 8GB and when I'm using the internet, looking at photos, or watching videos online its really difficult to get the screen to turn sideways so the viewing is better. My brother has an iPhone 3g and when you turn it the screen smoothly goes along with it, but mine i have to turn it and then shake it up and down over and over to get it to turn, then again the other direction to turn it back, and sometimes it ends up upside down. I looked up a few things and and read that if you can't play labyrinth that the accelerometer (that's probably spelled wrong) isn't working. Well i can play labyrinth, pretty well in fact and on apps that need to be in landscape mode, my iPod switches automatically and never has any problems. It's the stuff that's optional to have in landscape mode that's the problem. Such as, the home screen, texting, books, the internet, movies and videos via the internet. I don't know if its just mine or if the 2nd generation just has issues with this, but if anyone knows how to fix it, or make it a little easier such as a trick it would be greatly appreciated. Also I know it doesn't work so well to try and flip the screen when the iPod is horizontal, i read that and have almost always tried to change the screen when its vertical. Occasionally I've had it flip really easy on accident and then had a really irritating time changing it back, so i think it has the ability to change to landscape and back easier. Thanks

Make sure that the iPod is on the newest IOS you can get this generation on. Also try to power it down all the way by holding the home button and the off/on button together and ignoring the "slide to power off" thing. Boot the iPod back up and it should work. If all else fails might be time to get a new iPod.

I think that it's just an old outdated version of the iPod touch but that's just a guess

Right that ipod is outdated and getting old so more likely by the beginning of next year it won't be workin properly at all . And they are not going to be worth muh at all in the future so if you want a new iPod just trade that one into radio shack or whomever and pay the rest off or just get your parent to buy a new one and you may call us at 1800 Apl care and one of the representatives will say the same thing .
