How to install an ipa file programmatically?

Can't add cracked ipa files to iTunes?

  • I just bought an iPod Touch 4g, and jailbroke it, itunes required me to update to their latest version (10.6) to register my iPod. I downloaded Installous and the appropiate Appsync too. I downloaded a app from apptrackr.org (My connection always times out when I use Installous) but when I open, drag, or add the app to itunes it says: The app "name.ipa" could not be added to your iTunes library because it is not a valid app. OK I think the problem may be the new version of itunes, if so how can I get an older version? Also I've tried downloading the ipa file to my iPod using WinSCP but even with google I can't figure out how to download and install it and be able to play it...

  • Answer:

This could be the device problem... I would recommend you to report that problem to the device/mechanical service since they might have some idea of how to fix that problem.... Good luck!
