How do i get my music from ipod to play onto Itunes?

Transferring music from my iPod to my new computer? Please help!!?

  • I wanted to get all my songs from my iPod, onto iTunes on my new computer. (it's Vista) So I used this tutorial http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rMeaF9qo9U8 and I thought it was working great, I had to uncover all the hidden folders with my music in it. Well then I added about 15 new songs and then synced my iPod. I was soooo disappointed to see that the only songs on my iPod were the 15 new ones I added! All my old music shows up on iTunes, but when I go to play it it says the original file could not be found. I have over 2000 songs and I really don't want to redo them all! Please help me, can I fix it or am I screwed?

  • Answer:

you need backup your iPod song to computer first. Then adds to your iTunes from computer. Just get the software you need from here: http://www.ipod-to-computer.net/ipod-to-computer.html Step 1: Transfer your songs to a folder on your computer e.g. "C:/music" with a iPod Transfer tool. If the music you want to backup is in your computer, just proceed to Step 2 directly. Step 2: Run iTunes, click "File", click "Add Files to Library..." or "Add Folder to Library..." , select the songs in folder C:/music. Or simply run iTunes, Drag your files in "C:/music" to your iTunes music Library.

The most convenient and secure way is to use an iPod-to-computer transfer program to help you, like this handy one called Tansee iPod Transfer http://www.gutensoft.com/Utilities/Tansee-iPod-Transfer.htm Many of my friends are using it for its easy and safe transfer. With just a few simple clicks, it will help you transfer all songs/videos from iPod to your selected folder on your new computer, and then you can also easily add those files back to iTunes. See detailed guide. More importantly, this won't overwrite any original files on your iPod. And all song titles are preserved. Here is the step-by-step guide on the whole process: http://gutensoft.com/Guide/How-to-transfer-songs-and-videos-from-ipod-to-computer.htm Best luck!

sorry but you can't get the songs back. they got deleted. p.s. for the future you can only download music to your ipod from one computer, otherwise they'll get deleted.

I have vista and i just had to do this after my computer crashed and everything was lost. it works like a charm for me everytime. First You need to open your ipod as a mass storage device Second go to folder options click on view and click on show hidden files or folders. This will show all the files (including the music files) on your ipod. the music will be in folders labeled with a series of letters and numbers such as F00, F01, F02, and so on depending on how much music is in your ipod. Third you must open each of these folders individually (the music in these folders is labeled with a series of letters such as ACQR, ADNE, and so on. Again depending on how much music is on your ipod) Once opened you must copy this music on to your computer by highlighting it and dragging it into a desired folder. DO THIS FOR EACH FOLDER. don't worry that the music is named with a series of letters itunes will know what the names are ... (see below) THE COPYING OF THE MUSIC FROM YOUR IPOD TO YOUR COMPUTER MAY TAKE UP TO 90 PLUS MINUTES SO BE PATIENT. Fourth, once the music is transferred into the computer. You must repeat the process of copying each folder into your itunes . You do this by highlighting the desired music and dragging it into your MUSIC LIBRARY ON ITUNES. itunes will decode the names of the music for you.. that's it HOPE THIS HELPS
