I just got an iPod. How do I transfer songs from my computer on to the iPod?

How do I transfer the songs that I've gotten (not from iTunes) to my iPod? The songs I'd like to put on my iPod are downloaded from Walmart or CDs I've owned previously, so how do I transfer? Thanks for your help!

Have the songs already in your library and ready to go. Plug in your iPod to the computer and it will download. (Something will come on your iPod) and it should be on their. Last year when I got mine it took me like 2 days to get the hang of trasfering songs. But you'll get used to it.

You should be able to open the iPod as a folder on your computer. Look for E:/ in C:/, and then find the other folder with all your music, like C:/My Music. Just drag and drop the files into the E:/Music folder.

You need iTunes. Then, if you have a CD of your own, put it in the desktop and it will pop up in your iTunes. If you want songs, you can buy them from the iPod store, like 0.99 cents for each songs that you purchase. I'm not sure how that works, I just use CDs. Well, if you have a USB cord, then plug them into your computer. The wide end should be plugged into your iPod and the smaller one should be plugged into your harddrive. However, you need to use iTunes, nonetheless. It only works with iTunes, I'm sure of.

You have to insert the itunes disk and install the software and follow instructions during install process you may have to restart you computer, to get the music to itunes you will have to click file on itunes then click import either files or folder then find your music folder and import them to itunes, you will have to convert any songs that are not mp3 to mp3 to do this go to advanced then click convert to mp3. then you plug your patchcord into the i pod from a usb port the itunes will pick up your pod automatically and your name will be shown for your pod on the itunes window make your playlist then click file sync ipod and it should transfer.
