What's the difference between a straight tone arm and s shape tone arm?

• hi, i want to buy some turntables to start scratching, i like hip hop music and my favorite dj is dj premier, first id like to learn how to scratch, then how to mix. i have watched many vids on youtube on how to scratch and all and i think i could start off pretty good, i hope so. the problem is that i have been waiting too long to buy a turntable because i don't know exactly what to buy! i know that after a few years, when i have improved my skills i will eventually buy a better one, but for starters id like a normal one, and ive heard that straight tone arm turntable are better for scratching and s shaped tone arms are better for mixing etc. i also read that apparently the straight tone arm wears off the vinyl quicker, i wanna know all that, and id like info from DJs who have been mixing and scratching for a long time and have experience. i am looking to spend 500€ max on the whole dj set ( not including speakers, dont need them at the moment) and i thought probably the turntable Stanton T62 was alright, or the American Audio TTD 2400 USB. oh and if u could also explain the difference between direct drive and belt, that would help me a lot, ive heard direct drive is better, but why? please give me detailed info i really wanna learn to use an instrument or whatever i fell like a retard everybody plays something but i don't, i wanna make hip hop instrumentals, NYC old school style.
