iPod music?

With an ipod, how do you synch playlists but keep the ipod set to 'Manually manage music'?

  • I want to keep the "Manually Manage music" option checked on for my ipod on iTunes because this is required to be one in order to use an iPod on different computers. But if I keep this setting on, then I am not able to use the "Synch music" option and check off playlists to be synched with the ipod. So, how am I supposed to get music on my ipod? Am I just supposed to drag playlists into the ipod and copy them in? If so, then what if I make changes to the playlist on iTunes and want to have those changes reflected on my iPod (do I just drag the now updated playlist into the iPod to copy over my existing old playlist on the iPod)? Thanks for any help.

Basically, yeah. Your last paragraph was pretty close. If you have your iPod set to Manually Manage Music, then to sync your music, you connect the iPod, then click and drag the playlists over the iPod's name in the side list (with your playlists and stuff in it). If you change a playlist, then click on the arrow next to the iPod's name, find the copy you had (which you then changed), and delete the whole thing. Then, drag the new playlist over the iPod's name, the same way you did it the first time.
