How to transfer music from an iPod to the computer?

  • How do I transfer music from an old iPod onto the computer? I'm not asking how to transfer it from the computer...I can do that...but is there a program i can use to transfer from the iPod to the computer?

  • Answer:

You are able to use iTunes to transfer from iPod to computer and vice versa. Simply plug in your iPod, and then on the left hand side tehre should be a row that says stuff like itunes store, music, etc, and there should be your ipod there. Click on that, and then click on the music tab. Then find the song you want and you should be able to right click it and transfer to computer. It will appear in your itunes library.

when you connect the ipod to the computer, you can go to My Computer. Get there by clicking Start and then you should see My Computer. If your ipod is connected, you should see an icon called Removable Disk Drive or something like that. Opening this file will show you what's on your ipod.::If you can't find the right one, try looking with the ipod disconnected to see which one disappears:: The music that your ipod has on it is in a bunch of hidden files. To see the files, click Tools (found at the top of the window), then Folder Options, then click on the View tab, then under Hidden Files and Folders, check the "Show hidden files and folders" button. All of your songs are in the hidden files that appear lighter than normal files. Copy them to your computer.

Ipods actually aren't programmed to transfer music from the ipod to the computer, and are only programmed to receive music from the computer to the ipod. However there are programs that allow for you to transfer music from your ipod to your computer like Idump. http://www.ipod2computer.com/index.php?SRC=6&gclid=CKG3z7Gr9pcCFQEpGgodvyWzDA enjoy!

Sharepod. Try googleing sharepod, it's deffinitly the best program out there for doing this. My computer crashed once, and I lost all my music. So I downloaded sharepod and plugged in my ipod, and hit transfer to PC. It put ALL my music back onto my new computer.
