well i have an ipod touch and i have about 1,750 but i can't add any thing else it's full and i know the 16gb hold about 3,500 hope this helped

mine holds 1,681 songs. i highly suggest getting the 16gb... i have another thousand songs that i want to put on my iPod but i have no room =(
