  • portable mp3-video player reports DOS error. windowsXP prompts to format it.How will it work after formatting? it is a small video/audio player. it is allowing us to listen to radio but not to operate any files on disk{dos error reported}. on being connected to PC, Windows XP prompts to format it.Will it disable even the remaining functions ? we have other such player, will it help in the process ?

  • Answer:

Dont format the Player if its not a MMC ( or any card based) based thingie . coz you will also erase the firmware of the player and after that the player will cease to even wrk (not even FM). The problem seems to be that there are some curroupted files which are refusing to be read by player. You should install the software that came with device , it must be having some format utility or firmware update utility , use it to recover your device.
