How to turn ipod touch into iphone?

How do you turn the iPod touch into an iPhone...?

  • so that it is able to send and receive calls? And without jailbreaking? Don't say it's not possible because I know a few people who did it, including a guy that works at walmart, and they are definately iPod touches they have. Nothing rude, and thanks!

    It's not possible. It is possible to use skype or maybe another VOIP service, but it won't be a true iphone.

They likely add extra hardware / have a hacker or an electronics expert do it for them. It's not pushing buttons, you have to change the inner workings of the machine, if it's possible at all. You may have gotten punk'ed.

There is NO POSSIBLE WAY AT ALL to do this. The iPhone has GSM technology and the iPod Touch doesn't. That's what connects a phone to a service provider's network. The iPod Touch doesn't have speakers or a microphone - which I believe are important to use a phone.

It depends on whether or not you have the 2nd gen ipod touch. If you do, buy a compatible microphone for it and download the truphone app which is free. It works in areas with wifi and calls to other truphone users are free, but other calls are really expensive, so have al your ipod/iphone friends download truphone now! =) If your ipod is a 1st generation, then you have to do some serious hacking.
