Ipod touch battery life question!?

• my ipod touch battery wont even last me a day, i do play games on it but its not even for that long. i will play it for 5 min, then play another game later and fool around with it every so often but its insane how the battery life dies so quickly. my ipod touch also charges in the matter of 20-30 min. when i first got my ipod after installing apps 24 hours later the apps i downloading onto it would open then close after 3 sec. and go back to the home screen so i deleted them and re-installed the apps and they work fine now, like i was told to do. why does my battery life stink? is it like that for all ipod touches? please help thanks.

  1.) Make sure that the screen is not that bright. Change it to the dimmest lighting tolerable to you. 2.) Turn off the WiFi setting when not in use (will constantly be looking for spots to connect to the internet, using up power.) Also all functions that are not being used. 3.) Turning On and Off will decrease power faster.(not talking about auto-lock.) 4.) Quick charge is 1:30 Hour or something like that (not sure) 5.) Full charge is around 4 hours. I charge my iPod for 4 hours and it lasts me for 3 days just listening to music, but I get a "full" charge from a 20 minute charge. Don't listen to that and charge for 4 hours. If this doesn't work exchange for a different one.
