My iPod won't connect to iTunes, but it will charge when connected to my computer. How do I fix this?

I'm running windows vista and my iPod is a second gen nano, and I have the newest version of iTunes. When I connect it to my computer it only charges it and it doesn't show up in the list on my iTunes. What do I do? :(

reset your ipod press menu and the center buttons at the same time until the apple appears

Try installing iTunes again i've experiance that prob before . I'm not that keen on ipods there are better mp3 players on the market today.
