Does Ipod NANO 4g play video just in landscape mode?

I was curious if the accelerometer thing also worked on the videos, so when you would play the videos it will play in potrait but when u turn it sideways it would turn to landscape. Does this happen? or u can just watch videos in the landscape mode.and no accelerometer thing for the videos?
