Hi Bob S, Here is a tips to tell you how to do that. The process is transfer old iPod files to computer first, then add them to iTunes and sync with new iPod. You can also download a iPod to iPod software to help you do that. http://www.ipod-to-computer.net/ipod-to-ipod.html Enjoy and try it.

you'll need to have an application to copy files from your ipod to your computer first. there's one called media monkey that works great. you just copy your music to the computer and from there you can move it to another computer if you wish and so forth copy it to multiple ipods.

I had an older mp3 player not made by apple. I synced that mp3 player to my computer, transferred the files to the computer and saved them, disconnected the mp3 plater, then opened iTunes. I transferred all the music to Itunes, then synced my brand new shiny iTouch. Everything transfers automatically. My fiancé and I share iTunes, so when I download something, he gets it when he syncs his Nano and I get his music when I sync my iTouch. Thankfully we have the same taste in music!
