To jailbreak or not to jailbreak my iPod Touch?

  • Ok so i have an iPod Touch 3G MC model running on 3.1.3. It is already jailbroken with Spirit bout' 2 months back and has been working great(= So non-jailbreakers please don't reply stupid things like "no no don't jailbreak, it'll mess up your iPod"..bla bla bla(; Jailbreakers can stand with me and say that jailbreaking your iDevice is using it to its fullest potential ain't it=D Anyway, the jailbreak for iOS4 is finally out and i had been waiting for it before i updated to the iOS4. I might upgrade now, but just wanna know from all u guys who have already jailbroken on iOS4, is it safe and smooth? Did everything go fine? Haha becus if it doesn't work and i can't jailbreak, then i'll be stuck unjailbroken=( Also, if i do get down to it, should i restore before i jailbreak on iOS4? Or else can i jailbreak when i'm already jailbroken with spirit? Or will the update to iOS4 process already clear my device of all jailbroken stuff so i can start from scratch to jailbreak on iOS4? Haha sorry for the million questions but just wanna clarify as i'm kinda new to this(= Thanks! 10 points to answering my queries nicely(=

    I have jailbroke my iOS4 and it worked fine. The only thing is, you CANNOT use Spirit to jailbreak it. An easy way to jailbreak it with the iOS4 update is go on safari(on your ipod) and go to www.jailbreakme.com. All you have to do is slide the thing it says to slide to jailbreak. Make sure you are not going anything else with your iPod while jailbreaking using jailbreakme. P.S. My iPod has been jailbroken for a while and I did it again when I upgraded it and it works fine. It's worth it.

I jailbroke my Iphone 3gs and I really use only 1 app from there, to make international call through GoogleVoice. If it wouldn't be for that I would reroll back, but 3cents a minute to call to Europe is too nice. So to answer your question - don't. The apps through Blackrain and Rock are not worth your time.Or money, since they charge for most stuff there now.
