What is the difference beetween an LED, LCD, and plasma tv?

  • which do you prefer and last a long time since i heard plasma have lasted less time than LCDs and LED's im not even sure about?

    i just went through that exact thing my old TV finally gave it up from what i read LED and LCD are about the same except for the way the backlighting works and both are cheaper than plasma although with black friday you might find some deals on those too.

An LED is a light emitting diode...the little coloured 'bulb-like' things that show your TV is on or on stand-by. LCD...liquid crystal display...like the window on your calculator.... TVs with a LCD screen are similar to a plasma screen TV.
