Answer:
If you buy bargain brand LCD tvs, then don't expect to get more than 2 years. If you read yahoo questions you will notice that 95% of tv problems are from LCD tvs and 95% of those are off brand. My LCD purchased in December of 2006 burned out in June of 2009, while my plasma tv purchase in 2002 is still running today and it is used more than the LCD. Look for Panasonic, Sony, Samsung and Toshiba they are the most reliable than the rest. Hope this will help you out.
