Whats best way to get tv aerial or signal into bedroom?
-
i live in a bungalow. my wife has been bugging me for months to get the bedroom tv connected so she can watch tv in the bed. i purchased an indoor aerial hoping it would do the job so i dont have to do no lengthy jobs. but that didnt even pick up a signal, digital or analogue. so only options left i can think of : 1) buy a more expensive indoor aerial (last one was cheapo tesco brand) 2) purchase a tv sender (im not sure if these only allow you to watch whats being watched on the main tv?) 3) buy one of them amplifyer things which is a box connected to the main outdoor tv aerial, and then run additional aerials from there into other rooms (i'd have to run each one through the loft) which would be much more time consuming and planned to make sure its tidy, but it would give me the oppotunity to get an aerial into each room so its future ready for kids etc what you guys think, or you got any other ideas i've not picked up? I know the tv im using in the bedroom works fine because i used to use it in the living room before i picked up my big screen. i was hoping the indoor aerial would be ok, i thought they would have advanced since the last time i used one (about 15 years ago), but this one i bought didnt pick up any kind of signal. hmmm

Answer:
option 2 is the best .To clarify what you mean . you connect your outdoor aerial to the amplifier/splitter box and take 4 coax cables fom the box . one for each bedroom. This assumes 4 rooms . popular splitter sizes are 2 or 4 way. the way I have done it to avoid drilling holes is to use a two way splitter in the loft . one output goes to the lounge tv . the other to a set top aerial in the loft positioned directly above the bedrooom. In the bedroom the tv has a cheap indoor aerial which picks up a perfect signal from the loft aerial.

Option 4. Satellite provider.

You can buy a ''box'' in to which you feed your tv aerial which then when the box is 'on' it will transmit all channels so you can then pick up the signal on 'remote tv's. Ask your local tv dealer for more info.
