LCD is hands down best performance, and graphics output. Plasma and LED usually do this annoying thing called burning out where the picture will permanently burn into the screen, causing ou to replace the tv. LCD doesn't have that problem, I have 2 LCD tvs one 27" and another 32". I've had my 27" for about 6 years now. No problems at all, works just like new and I use them both alot. probably over 12 hours a day. Don't know much about ghz. But I personally recommend Samsung. They have great stuff.

Due to you BUDGET $450, you can go only for LCD TV . STANDARD ENTRY LEVEL MODELS. 720P HD READY with STANDARD 60 HZ refresh rate. Samsung and Sony equally quality / reliable . get an entry level 720P 60 HZ by Samsung / Sony . 32 inc could be better for you, 37 or 40 inc standard models with only 60 HZ refresh rate , you eye may uncomfortable due to motion blur. usually small screen 32 inc our eye may not noticeable the motion blur. of course, 450 able to get an 32 inc 1080P 120 HZ models by LOCAL HOUSE BRAND. but subject to quality and reliable. buy a tv once for awhile ?? if you accept the TV last not more than 2/3 years, go for VIZIO ! Vizio is good and cheap .

Don't get Plasma or LED when playing games. The image will get stuck on your TV. Get LCD TV. I have a rear projection LCD TV, I got it in 2006 and it's still working fine. I don't even think they make this TV's anymore. I recently bought a 32 inch Toshiba LCD for $390. The image is freaking beautiful. COPY & PASTE Sony KDL32BX300 BRAVIA BX300 32" Class LCD HDTV - 720p This Sony has a nice image for gaming. It's 720p though. That's just an example. There's way more if you visit electronic stores. I recommend Bestbuy. By the way, you won't get a samsung TV with that money though. o_O
