Is there any way to get out of a dish network contract?

How do I get all the Satellite TV channels by owning a dish?

  • I would like to be able to watch HGTV,CNN,CNN International, ESPN, XM Radio/Sirrus etc legally but not be bound by a contract from Dish TV. Is there a way to buy a satellite, DVR Receiver and I can be my wn provider getting the channels from the signals? If I get my own receiver can I program my Access Card using a reader on my computer to unlock all channels including HD? Any places to buy the satellite and receivers with DVR that would work to pull in all the current offerings if DISH Network and more? I want to be able to watch sports with no blackouts and get East Coast broadcasts from PBS,NBC,ABC,CBS,FOX etc. I want to do this legally and not get arrested which is why I am wiling to invest in the items. Thanks

Hi, DISH Network does allow customer's to purchase their own equipment and if they do the install themselves, they can start and account with DISH Network with no commitment or contract. It would be a Pay-As-You-Go account. These account do not qualify for any new customer promotions. You would still need to subscribe to a DISH Network programming package but all accounts have blackouts for sporting events as per the leagues themselves. Blackout are determined by the zip code listed on the account. The Zip Code also determines what locals you will receive and the FCC does not allow out of market locals. I am attaching a link to the DISH Store which will carry all the equipment you need. If you choose to go through Ebay or any other source, please contact DISH Network with any receiver and smartcard #'s before purchasing them to ensure the equipment can be moved onto a new account. If you have any additional questions or concerns, please feel free to contact me directly. Thank you! You cannot. Dish or Direct or your cable company MUST pay each of these channels a fee every month per subscriber. The signals are encrypted and the key to decode the channels change every few days. Only paying customers get the updated keys. "I want to do this legally" In some respects - the advertisers who pay for commercials on the east coast pay for the shows and let local people watch in the hopes they will see the commercials and shop their stores. They have zero interest in someone outside the local area from seeing the shows because you will never buy anything from them. Judges have said that skipping commercials or taking shows and showing them outside the local area is 'stealing'. You might try your local cable company as many of them do not require a contract. I paid something like $30/month for HD basic and no contract.
