How do you unlock channels on freeview?

Missing freeview channels on my new TV?

  • I got a new TV today and did the auto tune, and it found only 20 channels, a lot of channels that I have on my other freeview Tv are missing, such as E4+1, Dave, Really, etc. I've tried unplugging it and retuning without the wire in to reset it and then tuning it again, but I still don't get any other channels. What else can I be doing to get my freeview channels? Its quite annoying buying a new tv and only have 20 channels, most of which are the weird sex ones and or BBC parliament =/

  • Answer:

I suspect you are using an indoor aerial . You cant always get the same signal strength in different rooms even with the same type of aerial . You really need an outdoor aerial . I would connect your new tv to the aerial in the room where you get all channels when doing the tuning . Then you can move the tv to another room and experiment with aerial position to get best signal .

Make sure your Ariel is correctly positioned because this will help pick up all your channels correctly, then go to your MENU button, click SETUP, then INSTALLATION, this should help get your channels back. Good luck.

It is a signal strength problem, for whatever reason. No use retuning without a strong signal. http://www.radioandtelly.co.uk/freeviewhelp/missing.html http://www.frequencycast.co.uk/freeviewadvice.html
