What digital box do I need if i get Comcast Cable for free?

Do I need a Comcast Cable Box with HDMI outlet to watch on Samsung?

• I am thinking about adding cable to my samsung tv and people have told me that to get the best image quality you need an HDMI outlet and cords. The box that I already have now doesn't have an HDMI outlet and just has the regular cable it originally came with. Do i necessarily do the HDMI outlet because from what i heard when i called comcast they said it will cost 9 bux more per month just for that one hdmi outlet

  It sounds like you're using your high definition Samsung like an old low definition television. The only way to see high definition is to get a high definition cable box. If you do decide to get a high definition cable box, it will come with an HDMI connector on the back. You will need that to pass high definition from the box to the Samsung. If you don't like paying monthly for a box, you can purchase your own. Be sure to get one that works with your cable company's system. In addition to being a high definition cable box, it is also has a "digital video recorder" built in so you can record your favorite shows and watch them any time. A comparable box from my cable company that isn't as good costs $19/month. If you buy your own cable box, your cable company will provide a card which slides into your cable box to make it compatible with their system.
