How do you get to direct tv's on demand?

Some LCD TVs claim 'built in Freeview' but others don't - does this mean they can't get Freeview?

  • Am shopping for a new TV - I notice some TVs say 'integrated digital tuner' but don't mention Freeview, while others have the Freeview logo. Can all digital TVs get Freeview - if so, why do some claim it and some not? From the same store, too. This is probably a UK only thing.

    All you need to look for is the word DIGITAL, if it's a digital TV, you're sorted. Freeview is the commonly used name but as time goes by it's being used less and less.

All TV's that you buy now are Free View friendly which means you buy a set top box and away you go. However some come with this already built in so you get all the free view channels without having to buy another piece of equipment. If it says built in free view it should not need any other equipment.

My understanding is that when it says freeview it means the digibox is inside the tv to enable you to watch the so called free sky programs ...now when it doesn't have freeview you will have to purchase a digibox to watch such programmes ...digi boxes these days are anything from £15 up to around £50...

it just means that you have to buy a separate box to get freeview, if you have it built into the television then you don't need the extra box.

The ones that say "built-in" come with it out of the box, for the ones that dont you need to buy a freeview box separately.

If a TV says it has built-in Freeview it has a digital tuner that can receive Freeview channels. You can always buy a set-top box if it doesn't have one.

when they have the freeview sign then it already comes with freeview, but when it says that it doesnt come with it and you need to buy it seperatly...hope it helps...xXx

if you havnt got built in free view you can buy a box and card for about £20 goodluck.
