How do I use my TV as a second monitor?

Using my TV as a PC monitor, how can I use my tv for sound as well?Can I use the headphone jack?

• It is a flatscreen tv, and I just connected the monitor through the monitor port (vga i think its called), not SVideo or anything like that, just the monitor port.I dont have svideo or anyhting else on my computer,just usb ports.Is there a way I can use my tv as the sound device as well?If its not possible with my setup let me know, if it is then I appreciate your help. See, my soundcard is broken, it was plugged in to the speakers, but it fell off of my computer desk, and landed on its back where the speakers were plugged in.The little green plastic circle that the speakers plug in to, broke off, so now, if I plug something into it, it doesnt recognize it and it just falls out anyway.I tried hooking up a stereo to rca from the headphone jack but it doesnt work.Will anything work from the headphone jack?

  I'm confused by the question. Your soundcard was plugged into your speakers? Or was it the other way around?
