What is the difference between a LED or Plasma TV?

What is the difference between Plasma, LCD and LED TV's?

  • I am soooooo far behind in technology. But its time for a new tv, the floor model has finally died. Specifically, Price, Picture quality and if my cat bumps into it, will it be destroyed. Would love to hear what you like and why you like it (pertaining to tv's of course). Thanks!!

  • Answer:

Ok, Plasma TV's use a chamber of compressed gas and uses electricity to excite the gas to make the picture. Uses florescent bulbs for backlight. and these TV's generate lots of heat, so lots of wasted energy. LCD uses a Liquid Crystal Display screen and uses Florescent bulbs for the back light, These TV's waste energy because of the florescent bulbs producing heat, and LCD tv's have bad reaction to fast moving objects on TV since the crystals take more time to move and made the picture LED Tv's save energy since all the Pixels are LED lights, and thus do not need a backlight. The picture is very clear and is also very energy efficent. LED's have nearly instant reaction time to movement For Picture quality, worst is LCD, second Plasma, Third LED For Efficiency, worst is Plasma, LCD, and LED Need more info? PM me
