How to hook up HD Dish to HDTV?

I have a Sony KP-57HW40 projection TV. I want to hook the HD up but don't know how.?

  • I have a Sony KP-57HW40 projection TV. It has Hi-Scan 1080i. I understand that Hi-Scan 1080i is a form of HDTV. I want to hook up the HD to it. Also, I have a Playstation 3 with HDMI cables for it. From the specs on the TV, it has a "---" where it says HDMI Input. I don't know if it has HDMI input or not. Here's the link to the TV specs: http://www.crutchfield.com/App/Product/Item/Main.aspx?i=15857HW40&tp=162&tab=features_and_specs I need to know how to hook up my PS3 with my HDMI cable if at all possible to this TV? Also, how would I hook up HD to my HD Dish Network reciever? Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thank you!

  • Answer:

I don't think it has an HDMI port (it should look like a USB input on the tv that matches the one on the PS3). If it doesn't you can use component cables(red blue and green) which give you about the same quality. Go to a video game store and get the component PS3 cable and run that to the TV. The supplied yellow red and white won't give you hidef. Get component cables for your Dish Box too. You'll need red and white cables for audio.
