How to know if your monitor is HDCP compliant?

Is the Sharp Aquos LC20D30 HDCP compliant?

  • I plan to get a PS3 and a TV. I heard that if a TV or monitor is not HDCP compliant, it will not work with the PS3, assuming I use an HDMI connection. Does anyone know if the Sharp Aquos LC20D30 is HDCP compliant? I don't see it in the English Sharp websites. But I do see it in the Japanese website. Problem is, it doesn't seem to indicate anywhere that it is HDCP, so I have no idea if it is.

  • Answer:

    Yes, it is.

Other answers

HDCP is copyright protection. It's a system to prevent people from recording copyrighted material directly from the TV. It should not have any affect on a PS 3.
