What is the best HDTV for gaming?

What HDTV is best for Gaming? (less input lag)?

  • I need a perfect HDTV for gaming, i need as least amount of lag possible. Ive heard people said that 60Hz is best to eliminate in game lag, and then i have heard other people say that 120Hz is better....I just want good quality with less input lag......AND A TV FROM 32" TO 43" Thanks!

  • Answer:

As a rule of thumb, the higher the Hertz (Hz), the better. Therefore, 120 Hz is always better than 60 Hz. However, Hertz applies to how well the television handles motion on the actual screen, with higher refresh rates (which is what Hertz measures) having less blur in fast moving/action scenes than lower refresh rates. For command lag, I've found that LCD and LED sets have issues with command lag much more often than plasma sets do - not only have I seen this happen in my line of work, but I have personal experience with it as well. Some sets do have a dedicated game setting which does help with the issue, but you're safest bet would be to go with a plasma set. However, plasmas are only available in 42" and larger, but at least that does seem to fit your needs. As for make and model, I'd recommend Panasonic - they're the leading manufacturer when it comes to plasma sets. If 720p will suffice, go with the TCP42X3. If you'd like 1080p, try the TCP42S30. Either way, you shouldn't be disappointed - and the prices aren't too steep either.
