How do you fix lines on a RCA tv?

Yellow video RCA connection on my TV is no longer working. How Do I fix It?

  • The Video side (yellow) RCA connection seems to be no longer working. The Sound still comes through but I have no picture. I have tried several different cabels but that does not seem to be the problem. The video was working about 2 weeks ago and the TV is only two years old. Is this easy to fix by myself?

  • Answer:

Is the problem your TV or is it the signal source, like a DVD player? To find out, try another signal source into the same video jack. Then try the same DVD player (or whatever) into the video jack of another TV. That will tell you for certain (if you do have good cables) that the problem is your TV or the signal source. If your signal source has other outputs, like an RF cable from a VCR or an HDMI cable from a DVD player, try those and see if the problem clears. If so, you may be able to get away with simply avoiding the VID connection. Wherever the problem lies, if it's not a bad cable, the fix will most likely not be easy or cheap.
