Answer:
Depends on your eye. For me it is definitely worth it thats why I would choose a plasma over an LCD(average plasma response time is .001ms average lcd is 4-6ms). It really comes into play when you are watching sports, action movies, or fast paced video games. For LCD HZ is reference to the response rate how fast the pixels can refresh themselves to create a new picture. If you pixels do not refresh themselves fast enough you'll see a ghost image of the old image while the new image is forming, or you'll see a motion blur like I just mentioned it this is really only an issue on fast moving images. Even then some people see it and some people dont. If you cant tell then dont waste your money on it. If you go to best buy some of their TVs (like LG's trumotion) have a setting to turn off the 240hz processor and have a regular 60hz. You can split the screen in half and watch the same show 1/2 in 60hz and half in 120hz to see the difference for yourself. I'm sure if you ask the people at Best Buy they can set that option up for you so you can see for yourself.

I wouldn't agree with the 50hz claim, yes most things from european-standard countries use 50, but not north american standard countries, we use 60. 60hz would be good for the average consumer, but 120hz is a special TV mode that gives smoother motion by removing the intermittent frames required to make a CRT TV Make a complete picture. which would be a plus for us gamers as it lowers the response time from eye to hand and makes the video clearer too by getting rid of compression artifacts, especially on HD service.

60 is actually not to bad. A lot of TVs are still 50hz. If you're watching everyday TV, like the news and soaps and most movies 60hz is perfectly good. Many stations don't broadcast any faster than that, anyway. If you plan to watch lots of sports, or action movies. Particularly anything where the screen moves from side to side (For example, a football games where the camera moves from one side of the pitch to the other very fast) then you will notice the extra speed in a 120hz. You'll also notice it if you're a gamer on one of the more powerful consoles. Personally, for general family viewing 60hz is sufficient. And if you don't have HD you won't be able to make much use of 120hz. Most of the networks that I get don't broadcast in it.

It's just referring to the refresh rates. 60 Hz means that the moving picture refreshes at 60 times a second. 120 Hz doubles that at 120 times a second. The only time this difference can be noticed significantly is during fast action sequences in movies or sports. However, the larger the screen, the more noticeable the difference is.*

60 is good, but if your going to use it as a computer monitor 120 and even 240 will be worth it =) all movies still show at a standard 24 frame rates per second (or 24 HZ) so 60 more then makes the cut, you wont notice it it with movies especially on the Vizio =) the picture quality is so f ing good. but for everything else, 60 is plain good, 60 isnt bad for computer monitors either! P.S. Good choice!
