Whats the best way to clean an LCD TV or monitor screen?

  • Answer:

Don't use windex or ammonia. You'll be extremely sorry. They have wipes at WalMart, Office Stores that are for LCD, they have alcohol in them. I use those, but whatever you do, don't use windex.

With windex and a lens tissue. The same type you use for eye glasses.

i haven't found a best way yet, but i've just been using windex and lint-free paper towels on my monitor. it's still a bit streaky, but not super bad. newspaper *might* work better than the towels, but i don't get the paper, so i never have any around to test it out.

dust it w/ a cloth, it's safer that way so you don't damage the screen

I use a special cloth that looks like a piece of blue corduroy that I got from an auto parts store; it is made by 3M. These cloths are great. You can use them dry to clean minor smudges and slightly damp with water to clean off dust and such. If the cloth get sort of grungy, just throw it in the laundry to get it clean. They last like almost forever. They will not scratch the screen either. Never use glass cleaner or furniture polish on the monitor either...just not good for it....just one of these cloths and very little moisture will do the trick.
